Concrete - Oh Lord [1977]

The Netherlands
1977
Label: EMI Bovema
128 Kbps

01. Oh Lord
02. Stop Wastin' Your Time

"After The Last Encore, Pim Koopman left Kayak, only to return in 1999. Between 1977 and 1999, Pim was involved in many solo projects. Best known are The President (with Okkie Huysdens) and Diesel, with Rob Vunderink. However, before Diesel, Pim and Rob had already worked together. In 1977 they released a single under the name Concrete. The single was titled "Oh Lord" (by Rob Vunderink), and the b-side was "Stop Wastin' Your Time" (by Pim Koopman). I guess Rob sang lead vocals and played guitar, whereas Pim probably did drums, keyboards and backing vocals..."

"The Cross were a side project of Queen's Roger Taylor that existed from 1987 to 1993 and released three albums. Although the drummer in Queen, Taylor fronted The Cross as rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist. The band never enjoyed much commercial success.

Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know was the second album released by The Cross in 1990. Unlike the previous album, they decided to abandon the dance influences and recorded a straight rock album. This was also the first album to which each member of the band contributed. Another unicom was that one of band members (Clayton Moss) sang lead vocals on one of tracks, instead of Taylor. Like Shove It, the album sold poorly and EMI Records decided to drop them so they had no label anymore in the U.K."
